Geode Discovery for Kids Workshop on Thurs. Mar. 19th, 2026 at 1 PM ET

Join us in cracking open geodes to discover the stunning and unique crystals that await you in this exciting and engaging workshop designed specifically for children. This hands-on experience not only allows young explorers to delve into the fascinating world of geology but also encourages curiosity and creativity as they uncover the hidden treasures within these natural wonders.

Each geode is a mystery waiting to be unveiled, and participants will have the opportunity to learn about the different types of crystals that can form inside these rock formations, including amethyst, quartz, and calcite. During the workshop, children will be guided through the process of safely breaking open geodes, ensuring a fun and educational environment. They will receive instruction on the geological processes that lead to the formation of these beautiful structures, including the roles of mineral deposition and time.

In addition to the hands-on activity, we will incorporate interactive discussions and fun facts about crystals and minerals, sparking a deeper interest in earth sciences. Children will also have the chance to take home their own crystal specimens, which they can proudly display and share with family and friends, making this not just a learning experience, but a memorable adventure.
